Upcoming WhatsApp Feature: Enhanced Video Calls with Real-Time Music Sharing
Meta-owned messaging app WhatsApp is preparing to improve its video calling experience with a new feature that allows users to share music during video calls.
This exciting development was discovered by WhatsApp message tracker WaBetaInfo. This feature is currently in development and has been submitted for testing via the TestFlight beta program, the latest version of which is 23.25.10.72, which includes an upcoming addition.
While not yet available for beta testers, this feature will allow users to seamlessly share audio from a video with music during a screen sharing session. It promises a synchronized audiovisual experience for everyone on the call.
It should be noted that users can activate this feature only during screen sharing sessions and it is not compatible with voice calls or closed loop video calls.
WaBetaInfo highlights the benefits of this feature: "The ability to share real-time video and audio during a screen-sharing session adds a dynamic layer to video calls and makes virtual meetings definitely interactive."
The introduction of this feature is designed to greatly improve the overall video calling experience on WhatsApp, enabling a greater sense of connection and sharing of joy in virtual gatherings between friends and family. Something that is expected to be included in a future software update.
